A change in shape in the shape, size, or position of a place when it's shown on a map

Map projection:

A way of representing
the spherical earth on a flat surface

Relative location:

Where a place is located in relation to another place

Map Titles and Symbols;


Map titles show what the topic the map is showing, also the date and location

A compass rose shows what direction you can go in. If you're lost you know what direction to go in depending with way the needle points.

Symbols on a map like the map legend or map key shows and explains what something is.
A map grid divides up space on the map and global grid allows people to locate a place.
